Description

Summary:

Bushel’s HR Manager will contribute to the organization's overall success by developing, implementing, and administering effective policies and programs relating to compensation, benefits, employee relations, performance management, employee training and development, safety, security, and compliance. The HR Manager builds strong relationships with employees and leaders and is a trusted advisor on all HR-related matters. The Human Resources Manager provides functional leadership and direction to HR team members and assists in developing strategic HR initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.

  • Interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.

  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations and feedback for direct reports.

  • Provides support and guidance to HR team members, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions or issues arise.

  • Administers and executes tasks in delicate circumstances such as reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.

  • Manages FMLA and Short-Term Disability claims and coordinates with benefits, payroll, the impacted employee, and their manager.

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with Bushel’s benefits vendors.

  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits and provides recommendations to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.

  • Manages Bushel’s compensation strategy based on market research and pay surveys to ensure fair and equitable compensation decisions.

  • Develops performance management strategies and programs to help employees understand their job responsibilities.

  • Leads and executes on learning and development initiatives.

  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; reviews policies and handbooks to maintain compliance.

  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.

  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS.

  • Has the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, continually evolving organization.

  • Exhibits patience, attention to detail, motivation, and an upbeat attitude.

  • 7+ years of Human Resources and Leadership experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting or standing, if preferred, at a desk and working on a computer.

In accordance with state pay and benefit transparency laws, below is the salary range for potential new hires:

$90,000.00 - $110,000.00 (plus benefits - see “Bushel Benefits” section above)
