Position Overview
FirstWave is looking for a Maintenance Manager to provide supervision and leadership for all maintenance and assigned projects in the plant in support of Safety, Quality, and Continuous Improvement. This position is located in the Middlesex, NC facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement and preserve the integrity of sound maintenance practices on equipment through preventative maintenance programs and procedures.
- Assign & monitor the PPM work orders, conduct daily inspections of the PPM & report changes as needed.
- Ensure that all labor, parts & work are reported through the CMMS daily
- Review available planned jobs for completeness & correctness, adjusting as needed. Refines & finalizes labor, materials, parts, methods & priorities.
- Direct team on approved maintenance work based on the skill level of the mechanic.
- Provide guidance and support in troubleshooting equipment.
- Support process improvement teams, housekeeping, and safety initiatives in the department (shop area, spare parts room, offices).
- Ensure environmental and safety compliance in accordance with acceptable standards, ensuring required safety programs are in place, conduct formal/documented training, and monitor for compliance.
- Monitor expenses and control of the budget for maintenance.
- Manage relationships with contractors and service providers.
- Participate in designing and developing future production capacities by attending design meetings; coordinating with Research & Development regarding product changes and improvements; and updating maintenance operating procedures and schedules to incorporate the changes.
- Responsible for creating capital project requests, planning/organizing work for capital projects, and executing within time frame and with-in budget.
- Responsible for maintaining Food Safety and Quality Systems as assigned.
- Participate and assist all facility audits and corrective actions resulting from audits.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or 5-8 years of experience in the management of maintenance, repair, and/or assembly of equipment.
- Established knowledge of preventive maintenance and repair practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control; planning, problem solving, data collection
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering is desired.
- Experience in the electrical and mechanical maintenance of industrial food manufacturing equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of Low Acid Aseptics
- Knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations
